Yum Updates? Can Someone Explain

Im new the whole redhat server game and I have RH9 with plesk 7.5.4 and
want to update to MySQL4 and Ive had a few people say use YUM updater,
that I get directed to a site I cant find now lol. Can someone guide
me?, Im new so be nice, hehe.
