Much depends on the distro what they do install by default, it can be
mixes of Apple, Microsoft, ... fonts, but if you want one that is safe to
use, then Arial is a safe bet.

I figured that Aho thanks, but I'm looking for a compatibility table or at
least a table that lists the fonts on some of the more popular distros.
Meanwhile its google...
