I have an old Dell laptop, a Pentium 1 with 64 MEGs of RAM and cannot boot from CD because I lost my BIOS password.

Is there a way to install Linux other than booting from the install.
I do not have an ethernet card on the laptop.

Thank You

Maybe you can just sit on it and do it by osmosis. Come on - no CD no NIC
- that does not leave much.

Does it boot from floppy ?
You can make a boot floppy from most linux cd1's from dos or windows. You
then put the cd in boot from the floppy and it accesses the cdrom drive.

No it doesn't that is the problem it boots directly from the HD.
