point out that - compies were thinking of building single core cpu
(most likly 32bit). I should point out that Windows Vista, HD-DVD and
Blue-Ray will start shiping by the end of next years or so. This means
an average user would need at least 4.5 Ghz of CPU to run Windows
Vista, Anti Virus and process 25050 Gig HD-DVD -Blue Ray files!

bad for 90% users who are Windows User.

Of course you addressed the resource hogs and wastes necessary for feeding
windows, on-access virus scanners, total DRM protection
(cipering/deciphering every signal that goes out/comes in).
Now, since the climate tends to become hotter system builders begin to
realize it is more then inconvenient to add another heater into peoples
livingrooms. Energy costs explode, climatization becomes unaffordable for
more and more people (or will never be affordable for other potential pc
buyers) so there is a wall pc-producers are running against. You may find
the high-power heaters localized at "grid centers" maybe, and common
households will (like in old mainframe times) rent computing power from
"the Grid".
