Any ideas how to get it working better in vmware? According to this site
it should work with windows 95 so I think I should expect a problemfree
and very fast working windows 98 in a new vmware (5.5) with a pentium 1.8
ghz and 512 Mb memory.

I run Win98 on a VMware virtual machine under SUSE Linux 10.0 with 2GB RAM
and a 3.2 GHz CPU. There is no obvious performance hit, either on the host
or the guest. My guess is you need more RAM and/or you need to allot as
much RAM as possible to the virtual machine.
