To install Knoppix, depending upon your version, there are minor changes in the install program, but, Version 3.9 to 4.0.2 you do this
1. open a console
2. type: sudo knoppix-installer
3. the menu of tasks will appear, and you should then open the partitioner and make a / and a swap, unless there are already those made, plus any others you desire.

A very important item is that Knoppix WILL format the entire drive just like all the other OSes will if you don't take charge and direct the QTParted program!
