dump and restores - never made a hell of a lot of difference.

Come to think of it, in the early 1980's we never had to defrag the DEC
VAX/VMS systems either, and we had about 20 of them. I'd forgotten that.



although defrag may not really needed for linux

on bootup you should be able to see that there is in-fact discontinuity.
