Looking back at a previous post about Linux ... I just thought of this

Why do MS Windows expect Linux to be exactly the same ?
If they wanted MS Windows ... why dont't they just use MS Windows ??
Because it doesn't work - ever hear of malware?
Why does Linux have to be the same ??
That's what they are used to.
Now, I do believe that if Linux Distributors want to increase their market
share they will need to convert MS Windows users to Linux ... and by
experience an MS Windows user wants to see a similar desktop ... but why do
they expect another operating system to be identical ???
It needn't be. Linux is no more difficult to use than MS - only a little
different. The kicker is that Linux usually needs to be installed - on
most computers MS is already there. IMHO - Joe Sixpack is not up to
installing anything. Until major retailers make Linux available properly
pre-installed, there will be no massive movement to Linux.
I do not hear Mac OS users complain that MS Windows does not look the
same ... nor do they expect another OS to act the same way.
They, like Linux users, are proud that their chosen OS is different ... and
also see the value in certain features in other OS's.
So what is the real problem with Linux ??
See above. MS is pre-installed and Joe Sixpack is too dumb to install
anything. Hence, inertia.
