I have just finished installing LINUX Debian and it is fantasticly

The Internet and all the other Office applications run soooo fast!
However, the font for some applications like 'Unjuta', Dia, The GIMP to
mention a few, are very small. This problem is more obvious when using
KDE desktop, so using 'k->settings->GNOME control Center'
It seems you have chosen to use KDE as your desktop, then I suggest you install gtk-qt-engine, which makes gtk2 based applications (all gnome2 stuff) to use the KDE theme instead of the ugly gnome2-theme.
This will fix your troubles with the font size too.
What did I do wrong? and, how can I fix the problem?
It's to do with what your monitor and graphics card give to X Windows System, the DPI can get wrong, specially if the information from the monitor ain't forwarded by the graphics card. See Mihai Osian's suggestion of a fix for a more permanent fix.
