# Well, seems like I might be getting there, thanks to hint about "kppp".
But the Konsole prompt didn't recognize the command, so I went into the root
directory and to - Software / Software Management - typed in "kppp", and did
a Search. Yes, one file was revealed, which I then ticked, inserted DVD,
and downloaded.
The Internet directory (from Start) now has "Dial-up" listed - but it
doesn't recognize me as "having sufficient authority". Yet if I click on
OK, it comes up with a kppp screen which will allow me to Configure. This,
in turn, lets details of a New Account to be entered. I've only got to
puzzle out what the options mean.

Incidentally, an item of possible interest, in magazine APC (Australia),
for April this year - pg.97 : "OpenSUSE 10.2 was released in mid-December.
It was the first release of the Novell-sponsored distribution after it
announced the formation of an alliance with Microsoft...."
While Microsoft is not necessarily the enemy of Linux, it does contrast in
being copyright obsessed, as distinct from freeware.
PartitionMagic's website is now that of Symantec, the source of Norton
AntiVirus (and a subsidiary of MS)?
It may be that MS just wants "a piece of the action", and won't be
ultimately (like the Electric Car) looking for a monopoly, with intent on a
shutdown. What if Novell/SUSE squeezed out all competitors...?
I bought my ASUS Notebook, with WinXP already loaded (and Norton), and
this came with a disk of WORKS 8.5. Even with this loaded, I found no
spell-checker available for Internet use - only if I purchased either Word
OR Excel OR Powerpoint. Guess what? The only thing I could buy was a $200+
package which contained ALL three.- "Office Home and Student 2007".
