Is there such an animal? A free spyware and virus checker for Linux?

There are a number of virus checkers for Linux, but as long as you don't
run a mail server and have users who uses microsoft whom you want to
protect from getting viruses attached to the mails, you have no use of
the virus programs (scanning the Linux box with them will just generate
a good number of false positives).

When it comes to spyware, you have the source to all your programs, so
you can check those without any use of a program that trying to detect
smarter and smarter spywares. So the spyware detector is also quite
pointless too.

To save you another post, defragmentation programs are useless, as all
the file systems you may select (ext2/ext3/ext4, reiserfs/reiser4, xfs
and jfs) will place the files in a smart manner, so that you will have a
minimal fragmentation, as long as you have free space on the hard drive,
you will have big trouble to fragment files.
