So, my question is, is there a best desktop OS?
The one which works best for you.
Next, I have a hard time justifying download 3 DVD ISO's for a Linux when I
have seen a number of them that works and works well with just a single CD
or at most a couple CDs.
Well, I install a whole raft of packages so the single cd distro does
not cut it for me. That realy kicks in if I install on someone's
machine who is on dial up.
So in summery, what distro is most secure?
Depends on what you do after install and what kind of security you
want on install or after install.
What is easiest to jump into and get going?
For what level of experience and which one of the 8 or more desktop managers.
What distro has the most flexibility?
Define flexibility.
Which one is the most stable?
Define stable.
I am looking for a good solid OS other then Windows.
Any linux is a good solid OS.
