How I got firefox with sound in (rather "naked" xubuntu 6)
(hold on ...)
apt-cache show (package)
sudo apt-get install (package)
install package:
required: totem-xine
Audio and video: (ubuntu) libxine1c2
required: libxine-extracodecs
Audio and video: (ubuntu) xine-ui
Audio and video for Firefox: (ubuntu) totem-xine-firefox-plugin
Flash: (ubuntu) libflash-mozplugin: the Mozilla-compatible browser plugin.
And you should have sound and flash in firefox ... (I have ...)
(cost me a week to figure out)
Xubunt6
"Xubuntu 6 just installed ..."

I cant find a software for reading newsgroups. I did find a web-browser ("Firefox" I think) that I used to download an install package for Netscape. It put an icon on the desktop, but clicking the icon doesnt seem to do anything.Firefox is the latest of the mozilla suite - the successor to netscape.
No, Firefox is a stand alone browser that froked of mozilla suite a long time
ago, the SeaMonkey is the successor to Mozilla suite.
