procmail problem

Hey the problem is that I want to apply some rules of procmail in my
..procmailrc over a /home/user/mboxfile (which I donwload with Gnus
and Emacs) but I dont know how to do this, I have tried manually with
this:

$ formail -s procmail < /home/user/mboxfile

This works, because the mail is filtered by procmail, but here are
some problems:

1.- the messages on /home/user/mboxfile are duplicated each time
what I run the command for filter new mails

the question is, there are a way for tell into the .procmailrc for
read directly the /home/user/mboxfile ?

regards, and many thanks! :)
