Re: Linux is a piece of useless crap

Linux is a piece of useless crap, and that's putting it nicely

Not useless, but indeed difficult to use for someone like me who has for years used Windows and Mac OS. Software is not so easy to install and anything complex often needs a succession of command lines that must be input with exactness.

How do I know ? - well like 400,000 others I recently bought an Asus Eee PC which uses Xandros Linux, and I have it installed Xandros 4 on my Windows PC and Mac as well - so I really am trying to use it.

For the experts who may find my problems difficult to appreciate do look in at the new users section of www.eeeuser.com Perhaps then you will see how difficult it can seem at first.

Out of the box the Eee is fine to use with the built-in software, but as soon as users want to make changes they find how difficult it is at first. Such concepts as console, repositories, pinning, command line, etc. really are foreign to the regular PC/Mac user. So while Linux is not "useless crap" it does take a whole higher level of application and study to use well.
