I finally located this posting, which identifies where to find the drivers and how to install them:I just bought an Esprimo 5535 on offer without any O/S, and after trying a few Linux Live CDs, I finally managed to install Ubuntu 7.10 on it- it seems it needs the 2.6.xxx kernel to handle the hard disk used on this laptop. I now have the problem that there is no driver for the SiS671 chipset, so I'm stuck with 800x600 max, and pretty ugly at that.
Googling round the forums, I get an impression that there must be a driver out there somewhere, can anyone help? It seems I should get the driver from somewhere - where? and then edit xorg.conf, but that's all I know. Alternatively, is there another distro with 2.6.xxx kernel and the SiS driver built in?

Ubuntu should drive that chip. see http://barroslee.blogspot.com/2008/02/sis-linux-3d-driver-supported.html
There is support for Ubuntu 7.04
Ubuntu 7.10
Mandriva 2007
Mandriva 2008
Satux 1.4

Pleased to say that after loading the files from badongo.com and running dpkg-reconfigure, the sis driver and options turned up in the preferences menu. I now have 1280x800 with perfect rendition.
