Here's another option to consider. Set up a free shell account
(e.g., nyx.net) and download PuTTY:

Damn closeted Linux User. ;-) (inside joke 'tween Dr. Ted 'nd I)

And not trimming cross posts to boot. Shame on you.

Well, I looked at trimming, but decided to leave well enough
alone. It looked like all groups were reasonably relevant, and I
wasn't sure which group the contributors generally frequent.

Mea culpa.

Speaking of boot. How much uptime you got on that Slackware
Linux machine you got hidden in your basement with the piece of
wood taped over the power switch now?

About fifteen minutes short of 154 days.

theo@linus:~$ uptime
15:17:23 up 153 days, 23:44, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Thanks for the recent gesture in my behalf.

No problem. Thought it would be good to pitch in just a bit of an
attempt to keep the record straight.

As you are probably aware from our correspondence, I'd been using an XP
x64 'chine as my mainstay for a while to let my favorite Debian get
stable with Debian GNU/Linux version 5.0 Lenny. Running a VMware server
on it to serve up my various OS to users here on my home LAN. Also
running a Ubuntu Server VM on it along with the pfSense as a Dual Wan
with some NAT, Host Only and Bridged witchcraft and trickery, to enable
both my CW wireless connection and RR Broadband ISP connections for load
balancing and failback.

Lenny hit the repositories last night and I've currently got it
installing on the main box which is the dual core Intel 64 with the 4
gig ram. As soon as that is completed, I will be setting all the VMware
server and VM stuff on it and shutting down the XP side of the 'chine
and going back full Linux in my closet. I think or plan. *If* the doing
doesn't gang aglea or get too deep and I drown in it. Wish me luck and
as I say, "If I'm not back up in 30 days, write to me." ;-)

Just kidding on the cross post blurb. I know you gnu better. ;-)

Charlie
