Getting hibernate (s2disk) working with fglrx (ATI binary) drivers ?

Hi,

I am using Debian/Lenny and though suspend (s2ram) works well hibernate
(s2disk) does not. Hibernate goes through the entire process of saving
state to disk but upon restarting the computer it just boots normally
instead of reading back state from the swap partition. ? I am using the
fglrx driver and though there are plenty of posts on google saying that
suspend/hibernate does not work with this driver, I believe those posts
are outdated. I am not particularly a fan of binary drivers but just can
not get DRI to work with radeon or radeonhd drivers (xserver-xorg-video-
radeon). And what is worse with these drivers suspend/hibernate just
hangs. My graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 (RV 515 chipset),
that according to the manpage of radeon must have 3D acceleration
support, loaded by *default* . All versions of my software are official
Debian/Lenny versions.

I would be grateful for any suggestions and/or pointers to information in
this regard. I would gladly post any further relavent information, should
you need.
