Hi
I use my cranky old laptop for testing stuffing. I am dual booting it
with Kubuntu Linux. I was wondering if I could use this to run a web
server.
These are the spec.
P4 - 2.2Ghz
1 Gig of ram
160 Gig of HD (partition)
OS Linux Ubuntu (old version from early 2008) / (Windows XP SP3)
PS: I am very much use to kde 3.5 style, and I was wondering, if there
is a new version of kubuntu running on 3.5, if not I would rather
install gentoo provided I can use my fav GUI, and also it's perfect for
my outdated hardware.
What do you intend to do with your web server? If your sole intent is to
use it for inhouse testing, the answer would be yes. FWIW - I've always
found it better to install Ubuntu and then install the KDE desktop. With
several recent announcements, I have made plans to move away from Ubuntu
- I'm now migrating everything to Debian.
