Okay...here's something else for you to ponder.

I have a USB Lexar Smart Media card reader that I use with my Fuji
2800Z digital camera. I got the device ID and all the necessary
info to add it to /etc/fstab on my Red Hat 9.0 machine. First
time up...it mounted with no problems and I was able to take
images off of it. After I unmounted it, I could not get it to
mount again....not without a reboot OR without unplugging it from
the USB hub and plugging it back in.

This is the line that's in my /etc/fstab file:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/lexar auto noauto,user,rw 0 0

After mounting the card, I took a peek at the /etc/mtab file.
This is what it had referring to the card reader:

/dev/sda1 /mnt/lexar vfat rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,user=allen 0 0

As I said before, I was able to successfully mount the card and
pull an image off before unmounting and removing to take another
picture. When I put it back in the reader and tried to mount it
I get this error:

"mount: I could not determine the filesystem type, and none
was specifed."

Anyone else get theirs to work and keep working without having to
restart OR unplug it then plug it back in? Suggestions/comments are
appreciated.

By the way...I did change the mount point from /mnt/fuji to /mnt/lexar.
The previous seemed kinda...well...stupid...but somewhat amusing :)

Thanks!
Allen
