Keith,
Try '-y divx5' instead of divx4 on the command line. It seems that you are
using a more recent version of divx4linux than I am, and that the divx5
codec can't encode to divx4 (duh!). See whether you can change the
settings in DVD::Rip respectively.
'man transcode' for further information. I only use XviD since it is OSS
and the differences between the two are barely recognisable for me, which
could be due to the fact that the Linux version of DivX5 doesn't support
all the features implemented in the pro version available for Windows. See
www.divx.com and the transcode homepage for detailed information.
