Did you put the line in /etc/fstab yourself?

I ask because RHL9 uses kudzu to autoconfigure /etc/fstab when you add a
new removable media drive to your system. kudzu also will create the
appropriate mount point (in your case, /mnt/lexar). Meaning, you need not
add the line to /etc/fstab or create the mount point yourself on
vanilla/default configured RHL9.

also, RHL9 uses hotplug to do "stuff" with USB devices. You can get
USB-storage devices to mount automatically, even.

Also, also, if you are using Gnome, there is a GUI way to mount removable
disks: "Right-Click (on desktop)->Disks"

Also, also, also, I wrote a little script for my SanDisk flashcard reader
on RH9 to solve these types of problems. You can see it here:
