NO DSL?? What Gives?

Installation Rh 9.0 recent kernel 2.4-18? (I think)

I had Roaring Pengiun PPPOE program for DSL. It worked fine. I updated the
kernel and all the packages and now NO DSL.

I cannot activate DSL, I can't configure DSL,.

If I type 'adsl-start' it does nothing.

The modules load in but have '0' by their name (not being used)

I reinstalled the rp-pppoe-gui... files

'adsl status' gives me nothing.

At boot up, the ppp0 gives me 'failed'

I cannot figure for the life of me what to do next. Any constructive advise
or constructive solutions would help.
