Multimedia player?

Hi. I can't get the winamp-ish multimedia player to actually play my mp3's.
The program will load, and then if I select a file for it to play, it will
not play it. I have tried actually clicking on the file I want to play
instead, but that only brings up the media player and doesn't play the song.
I have tried the obvious "click play" and no that's not my problem.

How do you use the media player thing? (comes with Redhat 8.0, KDE/gnome)
