Reinstall the whole OS just to fix Samba problems?? Seems like overkill
to me. And I thought one of the benefits of Linux (vs., say, that *other*
OS) is that you *don't* have to reinstall to fix problems like this!

I think a *far* better learning experience would be to hunt down and fix
the problems rather than reinstalling the whole darn thing! What do you
really learn by reinstalling?
