Hello all,
This one's got me truly baffled. I've searched all over the place for
help on this error and everything I find says it's basically a harmless
but annoying kernel message. However, in my case, it's showing up when
I should see the graphical login after bootup and the X Server fails to
load. The only thing I changed was that I installed drivers for a
conexant modem that had been sitting idle in the machine since I bought
it. I removed the modem (even though it doesn't use IRQ 7) figuring
that if I undo what I did, it might just fix it. I don't have any
parallel port devices at all on my machine. I'm running Red Hat 9 and
everything is up to date according to RHN. If anyone has any ideas, I'd
really appreciate it.
