Hello,
Kernel tuning is mostly for folks very familiar with the hardware of
their computer system. Since I had been working with computers as a
profession for over 13 years, it was relatively easy to understand what
I needed to know in the kernel - but still important to read all the
descriptions of the kernel options. Also, you need the kernel source
which, if exists, can be found in /usr/src/linux-2.4.20-8 for the kernel
that comes with RedHat 9. The rpm to get in case its not already in
/usr/src is kernel-source-2.4.20-8.i386 RPM which can be found using
rpmfind.
