Repairing the Grub after XP reinstall (dual boot)...AHHHHH

ok, from the RH9 disk....and from linux rescue I tried...

#grub boot loader install command
/sbin/grub-install hda

...no luck

tried to upgrade and install malstorm game .. no luck (see below)

after the upgrade/install i get "no kernal package installed so no changes
to the boot option...or something like that...but i dont want to change the
kernel i have ( it was upgraded fron the orig on the cd)

the RH is installed at HDA3 i beleve? and XP is on HDA?

AHHHHHH

is there a better way to load grub to have it come up again ...........any
way that would work without reloading the image again?
