installation

I have problem with Linux installation.....

I tried to install few times red hat or mandrake but with no result....

I boot Installation disk...from CD...

after few seconds instllation stops.....and nothing is happening

that is what I see on the screen

Mandrake 9.1

black screen with

"in second stage install"

at the bottom

Red Hat 9

and stops....

Red Hat 8

and stops....

I have Notebook Compaq Presario 1201Z
320MB Ram, 1ghz AMD Athlon, 20gig HD...

Please if you know how to manage or know who may know pleas let me know
