buttons are displayed to the left of there actual position [RH7.3]

I have a very strange problem with a computer running RedHat 7.3

When I try to close a window with the "x" button in the upper right
corner, the window minimize. If I press the mouse when the pointer is
just to the right of the "x" button (i.e. right outside of the window)
the window maximize, and if I press the mouse even more rigth of the
window, it closes. This apply to all buttons and menus. All there
actions are to right from where they are drawn on the screen.

Anyone here that have experienced something similar or have
suggestions on how to solve this?
