I am running RH9 (w/ latest kernel) and am not too experienced with Linux. I
dual boot to W2K Pro.

I have a Logitech webcam and installed some drivers to make it work under
Linux. They were called pwc and pwcx. I have tried removing them since they
interfere wiith my onboard sound chip. Only the volume control is available
with the sound mixer. I see no modules starting with pwc* installed.

If I unplug the USB webcam and reboot, Kudzu finds four "unknown sound card"
devices that I choose to remove. When RH finishes the mixer has all its
functions. If I plugin the cam and reboot, the mixer only has a volume
control. I assume there is a conflict with the cam's builtin mic.

I want to leave the cam plugged in to use with Yahoo in Windows. I do not
want it used by Linux so I can listen to CDs and MP3s.

I have tried commenting out lines in /etc/modules.conf that relate to the
webcam.
