Pentium I or better I presume? You're right on the ragged edge of the
minimum and you might have better luck with a text based install.
Have you verified that all of the hardware is on the HCL?
You also didn't mention where is hangs and what the last thing it was
doing is. For example if it's hanging when initializing the USB,
disable usb with the 'nousb' switch as documented in the install
manual.

Not unusual. I haven't seen many PII setups that properly support the
El Torito standard.

Have you tried them? If you've got a network you can try a http, ftp,
or nfs boot.

Poor support is independant of accents. Many off-shore support
centers have classes to teach the techs to speak english without an
accent. I have gotten great support from Indian named techs and lousy
support from American techs. Best tech support I've gotten was from
Dell and the lady had a thick Texan accent. :}

Sounds normal as 90% of the calls are from people who haven't tried
the basic stuff in the manual. In your case, you're probably dealing
with an atypical problem that the first tier techs can't handle.
