There is not a lot of software available for the AMD64 in 64bit mode. The
drivers are also lacking in most cases. Linux seems to be way ahead here
thought as I still can't get my Windows XP64 and 2003-64 Server installed on
my SATA drive. Not a problem in your case as you are using standard ATA. The
new Linux 2.6 kernel supports SATA so I have both SuSE and Fedora Core 2
Test 2 86_64 installed. I had to turn off the onboard 1Gb NIC and install a
standard Realtek. I have no sound in 64 bit, but that is the same problem -
obscure or new onboard sound system.
On the other hand, if you're using 32bit o/s you will have one fast system.
Your parts look fairly standard so the drivers should be avaliable. If you
modem is a winmodem, I don't think they have a good solution there yet.
What does the manufactuer say about it and what o/s do they ship it with ?
Do they have a Linux option ?
