I just installed red hat 9 on my machine. I´ve done it before but it
is the first time I use a cable modem. The problem is that when I
start my computer with network active (by network active I mean
connected to the cable modem) my computer gives me a message like
" welcome to alopa" on the graphic enviroment if I log it
tells me that cannot locate alopa server and that i should add it to
hosts. If i try to log on text terminal i get in successfuly but as
if I were connected to a server named "alopa".
It is not a problem on my sysconfig/network or my hosts file, they are
set to be localhost. I used grep to try to find alopa in every file,
but it seems it does not exist.
I´ve been looking on the net and find no useful info, just some folks
with the same problem but never get how to fix it. Thats why I think
it must be a simple problem to fix.
Does anybody has any idea of how to fix it or have anybody have that
problem.
