Compiling Kernel On Redhat 9

I have tried to compile my redhat kernel ..
I used the following command ...

1. make menuconfig
2. make dep
3. make clean
4. make zImage
5. make modules
6. cp /usr/Linux/src/arch/i386/boot/zImage /boot/newkernel
7. make modules_install

lastly, i configured the grub.conf file...

The problem occurs when i cant find the zImage file that is suppose to
be in /usr/Linux/src/arch/i386/boot ... the file exist in the path
when i use the 'locate' command ..

This is the second i tried to compile my kernel .. but when i did it
the first time, i had no hard time to locate the zImage file .. can
anyone help here ? thanks
