Tandy Deskmate was just a text graphic shell over DOS. Some Tandy's did
some with it in ROM though, so it would boot "without DOS," which was
nonsense since it had DOS underneath. That system lasted what, a year??
Tandy also had a Windows card for the 1200 TD. Only knew of one person who
had it. I guess they were trying to emulate Apple with the stuff in
firmware. The Tandy line was basically a PC Jr clone, but IBM killed that
line when it threatened their "grown up" PC sales.
