Using RedHat ES 2.1, kernel 2.4.9-e.38, as viewed in TOP, I am seeing
the kjournald process consuming about 50% of my CPU time. Sometimes it
is close to 0%, but much of the time it is around 50%. My users are
complaining about slow transfers to and from the server. I did not
see much related information about kjournald by searching the
newsgroups.

Is this typical? A know problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks.
