Hi group.
I have a very annoying problem while trying to install Red Hat 9 on a new
server. Here's a summary of the hardware:
-PT8 Neo Series (MS-7008 v1.x) ATX mainboard
-512 MB RAM
-VIA VT 8237 Serial ATA Raid, 2 HDD 80 GB each.
I followed the instructions on MSI website on how to create a driver
diskette and installation was OK. However, after selecting the appropriate
option in Grub the boot process stops with a kernel panic ("Attempted to
kill init"). The most annoying fact is it scrolls way too fast and wouldn't
let me read any messages which could help me troubleshoot the problem. I
RTFM, DAFS on Google and tried almost everything, even scrolling back with
Shift-PgUp without success, all I got is a message saying "<6> keyboard:
unknown scancode e0 7a"
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
