Quite frankly I'm surprised you haven't completely trashed your system
by doing what you did ... Why on earth are you going about this in such
a convoluted way? You could have just installed Gentoo in a chroot from
inside your FC2 installation, and then moved the Gentoo root tree into
the old root. That's how it's described in the installation docs.
As for creating a hybrid, that'll never work. FC2 and Gentoo use
completely different databases of what's installed, so if anything
you'll get *more* dependency problems as various versions of libraries
start to overwrite each other in a way that I'm sure will break
something.
Anyway, good luck with the reinstall, whichever Linux you decide to
settle on :-)

kportage, but it's not currently being maintained, IIRC.
