Hello all,
I'm not very familiar with linux's network configuration, but I usually do
it with webmin and never had any problem.
I want to create virtual interfaces to use several IPs on the same network
card on my server.
So I created eth0:0, eth0:1 and so on;
But here's what happens after about 10-15 days (verified several times): IP
addresses are not reachable anymore from the outside, but only from inside
("ping" on server's shell).
I need to delete configuration, then re-create it, and it works again for
10-15 days, before stopping working again.
Today the problem is worst: even when I delete and re-create configuration,
eth0:0,eth0:1 and eth0:2 don't work, but eth0:3's still working.
I tried to "apply network configuration", my firewall rules are empty, ... I
don't know how to solve this now.
a "ifconfig" gives me the same configuration for all virtual interfaces.
So why don't they work the same way?
Why do they stop working after a few days?
Thanks a lot for your help !
Benjamin
