Does the firmware path include the filename?
also in my snapscan.conf the /dev/usb/scanner0 line is commented out.
sane-find-scanner located my scanner at libusb:001:003
I then had to do a chmod a+rw /proc/bus/usb/001/003
this is reset upon reboot.
To make the above execute every time on every boot I had to add the
command to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
I then run gimp and do an aquire>device dialog to use my scanner(it has a
35 sec warmup the 1st time).
