Getting bored trying to installing oracle on RHE3

This has got to be one of the worst installation tools I have ever come
across and for once it has nothing to do with RH!
The oracle installer for 9i just simply does not work on any version of
Linux distro without a hell of a lot of faffing about.
I can get the installer gui to startup and can press 2 of the buttons with
some success but th erest of the buttons simply do not work.
I have googled and tried various suggested solutions but simly cannot get
this bloody thing to work!
Yes I have installed all of the essential rpms listed by Oracle and have
set all the correct system settings as specified by Oracle but still
cannot get it to work!
Has anyone actually managed to get this bloody thing to work on RHE3 and
if so please tell me how?
