    on a new linux install with windows you will have grub loader or lilo
    installed and might loose any way to boot windows...happened to me.

    I turned around by reinstalling various linuxes untill reboot was possible!!

    Also if you even try to use partition magic this will somehow distroy
    your linux-windows boot and you will be unable to boot untill reinstall
    of a linux that works and recognise windows ..some do not care about
    windows!!!
