Thanks. The redhat-config-network configuration tool was overwriting all
my (wvdial) dialup data whenever I used it to configure my dsl. I wasn't
able to find an easy automatic way to avoid that. So I was kind of on my
own if I wanted to keep both connection options open. I managed to get as
far as I did only by reading man pages and working from the command line.
This is the only remaining connection issue on that system, and one I
have reluctantly been able to live with, but would prefer not to need to.
The fedora machine is getting a disk repartitioning and reinstall, and has
no dialup modem so probably will be ok with the GUI tool.
