FC3 automatic updates

    I don't like my machines automatically making connections, therefore I
    always turn off automatic updates and do them manually.

    I disabled the services rhnsd and yum, yet the little red flashing
    exclamation point keeps finding new updates. How can I disable this?
    What else might be connecting unbeknownst to me?
