DVD Problems

How do I get the DVD to work on my laptop? I have an HP OMNIBOOK 4150b
with a Toshiba DVD drive in it. The drive is only recognized as a
CD-ROM. If you have any answers I would really appreciate the answer to
be fairly detailed because I have only been using it for a week. By the
way, I am using Fedora Core 1.
