I am trying to install FC3 on an ASUS SK8N motherboard with Opteron
processor, onboard Promise RAID controller and two (2) Seagate 80GB SATA
hard drives. I have set up the two hard drives in RAID 0 format and I have
successfully installed Windows XP that sees the two drives as one now.
I would like to have a dual boot system with Windows XP and FC3. During
installation of FC3 it complains that it cannot acivate the 2nd drive
without losing the data. When I opted no, it shows the 1st drive as sda and
I can partition it with disk druid. I have chosen to install FC3 in sda2
partitioned as "/". The rest of the installation proceeds smoothly. However,
when I booted after the installation is complete, grub hangs!
My gut feeling is that FC3 install is not able to see the two SATA drives as
one as in RAID0. Can somebody give me some good suggestion to set up FC3
successfully in this situation? Thanks a lot in advance.
