Hello,

I am really trying to like Linux, but...

I want to print a screenshot. The image is saved (png?)and I open
it with "Eye of the GNOME" and click on file - print. Ah, there is no
print button there. The help file says there is, but I can't find it.

No problem, I open it with the GIMP. I print it, using CUPS to my colour
ink jet printer (which is connected to a machine running XP Pro). One
piece of paper comes out with "%!PS-Adobe-3.0 %%Creator: Print plug in
V4.2.7 - 15 Jul 2004 for GIMP/Gimp-Prin" and ends at the edge of the page.
Then follows blank paper, lots of it. After about 30 sheets, I turn of the
printer and cancel the print job (from the Windows box).

So, I dig through all of the literature I have on Linux, search the web
and newsgroups and find no help. I play with the settings and try to print
it on my laser (also connected to my Windows box). And, the same thing
happens.

I really want to like Linux. When it works, it is great. But taking a
screen shot and printing it off takes under a minute in Windows. After an
hour and a half fighting with Linux, I still cannot do it.

I would be very grateful for any ideas. And I am sorry for being so angry
- this should have been an easy job.
