Interpreting vmstat

Hi.
I am testing out my software on RedHat 9.0. My software accepts
periodic data from an ethernet link, does some context sensitive
interpretation on the data and additionally writes the data to the
database.

After the code runs for about 30 hours the system slows down
dramatically.
I have collected iostat and vmstat outputs.....

Before system slowdown

the system slowdown.
