what is my modem

I am running FC4 on an AMD Athelon 2000+ .
The box is a GQ3111 and the last slot contains a small
board with two telephone sockets (line / phone)
If I run lspci | grep Modem I get
Modem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Modem Controller (rev a0)
If I run wvdialconf, it fails with the message that I need
to run setserial. setserial -G ttyS0 returns
/dev/ttyS0 uart 16550A port 0x03f8 irq 4 baud_base 115200 spd_normal skip_test
The box has a 9 pin serial port so it might be possible for /dev/ttyS0
to be associated with the 9 pin port. The last time I saw AC'97 it was
associated with a winmodem.
MY QUESTIONs
Does my box contain a winmodem?
What do I type in a terminal to query the modem?
Thanks,
Charles
